I had to just do each chore list individually. Fortunately, if you have created chores they are visible from child to child, you just have to go through the task of checking each of them off and selecting the days for each child. (Four of my five are at home - set-up took a while)
As for prizes, I have SOME long-term goals, but since the kids can collect a significant number of points in a day, They use them to pay for their computer time (6 pts), TV time (4pts) [family movie/together time doesn't count - mom or dad pays for that], an extra 30 minutes past bedtime (6pts weeknight/4 pts wkend) ...you get the point...It has become a valid form of currency in the house. Stranding a family member with no TP in the bathroom is a fined offense, punishable by a dollar fine or 4 points. My 12 y/o would rather pay up the cash than his points!!
I should mention we use the demerit system - each of them has 20 or so things a day - most are simple - get along - go to bed on time. The 9 y/o has chew with your mouth closed, etc..a couple are chores and schoolwork. If it gets done check and a point. Not done means Mom or Dad goes in and tallies that unchecked item as a demerit. Works beautifully. Been using it for 5 months now!
The long term goals are exchanging pts for allowance cash 20pts = $5 or 30 pts = $8. My youngest still is more interested in THINGS than $$. They can get paperbacks for 20pts, trips to a matinee movie with a parent and a friend for 50pts. (Our kids are teens to 9 - we have prizes for everything from taking out the car with gas to new video games to bedtime stories) I had a great deal of fun looking on photobucket looking for images to match the rewards we selected. Best thing about this is its customization.
